The Imperial War Museum in London holds its collections in order to illustrate and record all aspects of conflict in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Its aim is to engage, challenge, and remain relevant to audiences. The collection includes a broad range of media, such as art, film, photographs, documents, sound and of course objects, including tanks and aeroplanes.
Imperial War Museum asked for a workshop on management of risks through light with a view to develop a light policy. Key within the workshop was aligning objectives between team members through understanding all aspects of caring as well as use of objects. In addition, the workshop sought to address knowledge gaps with respect to light, and taught participants to consider cultural value and vulnerability objectively.
The workshop was delivered together with Agnes Brokerhof, senior scientist at the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands.
